How do I choose an FBA prep centre in the UK?
Compare on the things that are checkable: a full published rate card including exception fees, a stated turnaround target, and real visibility into your stock while they hold it. Our answer to each is on this site — per-unit rates from £0.50 down to £0.26, a 24hr prep turnaround target, and a portal with live inventory and discrepancy photo alerts. Any centre that will not publish the same is asking you to buy blind.
How much does a UK FBA prep centre charge per unit?
Our rates are volume-tiered: £0.50 per unit at 1–199, £0.42 at 200–499, £0.36 at 500–999, £0.30 at 1,000–2,499 and £0.26 at 2,500+. Inspection, poly bag and FNSKU label are included at every tier. Add-ons such as expiry labelling (£0.12 per unit) and bundling (£0.25 per extra unit) are published separately.
Does it matter where in the UK my prep centre is?
Less than sellers assume. Your supplier ships to the prep centre by carrier and the prep centre ships to Amazon by carrier, so the working variables are inbound cost, turnaround speed and visibility — not mileage from your house. UK domestic carriage means a centre anywhere in the country is effectively next-day from anywhere else in it.
Can my overseas supplier ship directly to your prep centre?
Yes, and it is the normal setup: your supplier or freight forwarder sends stock straight to us, cutting out a stop at your own address. We receive parcels, pallets and full containers — devanning is £250 for a 20ft and £375 for a 40ft — and everything is counted against the inbound you announced in the portal.
Do you charge storage while stock waits for an Amazon shipment?
The first 30 days are free on FBA-prep inbound stock, which is designed to cover the normal gap between goods-in and your shipment going out. Beyond that, storage is £3.25 per pallet, £0.90 per shelf bin or £1.55 per cubic metre, each per week — so long-stay stock has a visible cost rather than a surprise one.
