Compliance & insurance

The boring pages matter most

Your stock is your working capital. Here's how it's protected while it's in our building — and what we'll put in writing.

FHDDS

The Fulfilment House Due Diligence Scheme is HMRC's register for fulfilment businesses storing goods imported from outside the UK on behalf of overseas sellers. If you're an overseas seller — or plan to become one — your fulfilment partner's FHDDS status matters to your own compliance. Ask us about our registration status for your situation, and we'll give you a straight answer in writing.

Goods insurance

Stock in our care is covered by our warehouse insurance policy while stored and handled on site. Cover details, limits and how to declare high-value stock are set out in your service agreement. For goods in transit, carrier-level cover applies; we'll help you arrange additional cover for high-value consignments.

Your data

Your customer data exists in our systems for exactly one purpose: shipping orders. We process it as a data processor under UK GDPR, hold it no longer than the job requires, and never share or sell it. Portal access is per-user with magic-link authentication — no shared passwords floating around.

Site security & hazmat

The warehouse is alarmed, CCTV-monitored and access-controlled. Hazmat is accepted for limited categories only, stored segregated, and always declared — if you're unsure whether your product counts, ask before shipping and we'll check it against the current rules with you.

Oakmont 3PL Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales. Specific policy numbers, cover limits and registration details are available on request and included in every service agreement.

Want any of this in writing before you commit?

Ask. A 3PL that hesitates to put its cover in writing is telling you something.
